The announcement is part of the government’s plan to have 1.6 million electric vehicles on Quebec’s highways by 2030.

The government is also offering $6 million in financial assistance to charging station manufacturer FLO (formerly AddEnergie). The funding will “support the development, at a cost of $23.8 million, of a new generation of high-power rapid charging stations and a new platform of Level 2 charging stations for electric vehicles.”

The province estimates that the addition of the new charging stations will see Quebec become home to 40 per cent of the public charging stations in Canada.
