Under the direction of the Manager of Information Technology (IT), the Senior Network Administrator is jointly responsible for schedules, directs, and assists personnel with the development, engineering, coordination, design and implementation of the network infrastructure, network security and computer resources including firewalls, switches, servers, workstations, and peripherals. The primary responsibility of this position is to assist the Manager of IT in providing systems development and implementation; automation planning; technical consultations; support and training in the operation and use of technology; maintenance of systems; maintenance of LANs; maintenance of sub-office connections and evaluating information technology for this Agency. Responsible for providing leadership, mentorship and overseeing the work of non-senior IT staff.

Qualifications and Requirements: A minimum two-year Computer Diploma or a three-year Computer Science Degree is required. Have at least 7 years work experience installing, configuring, and maintaining switches, firewalls, virtual and physical windows servers, backup systems, and wireless Access Points. Extensive hands-on technical knowledge of network systems, protocols, and standards such as Ethernet, TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, VPN, etc. Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles and general network management best practices. Knowledge of Anti-Virus, Anti-Malware, intrusion detection systems and network security systems.

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week

Must have: Ability to work flexible hours as determined by the Director, Administration and Finance in relation to service requirements; must possess a Class “G” Driver’s License and have access to a personal vehicle; must complete a criminal record check satisfactory to Dilico.
